What Kind Of Mice Do I Have?
The two common types of mice species that infest homes and businesses in michigan, Ohio and Indiana, are the house mouse and deer mouse. The house mouse is a small rodent that is nearly hairless and has a slightly pointed black with slightly protruding eyes and large ears.
They range in color from very light brown to black and normally have a grey belly to buff belly. The droppings are black and have a musty smell. Another common rodent is the deer mouse. The deer mouse is bi-colored having white feet , usually a white belly and white undersides with brownish upper back and head. Their tails are quite long, often times the same length as the head and body combined. Their tails are very distinctively multi-colored and compared to the house mouse, the deer mouse has larger eyes and ears. The droppings of the deer mouse are black and smooth with pointed ends.
